PEQUOT LAKES COMMUNITY LIBRARY <br /> Board Meeting Minutes <br /> March 10,2020 <br /> The regular meeting of the Pequot Lakes Community Library was called to order at 6:05pm in the Pequot <br /> Lakes Library on March 10, 2020 by Board Chair Melissa Birch. <br /> Mike Czech resigned in January 2020. <br /> Members Present: Melissa Birch, Faith Kimbler, Renee Moodie, Courtney Gran <br /> Members Absent:Terri Grimes, Mark Jurchen <br /> A motion was made by Renee Moodie to approve the minutes, seconded by Faith, and passed. <br /> Old Business <br /> Financial Report no treasurer at this time <br /> Children's Program Report (given by Terri Grimes) <br /> Terri is in Florida, but sent an email that says summer reading program is planned with Real Heroes as the <br /> theme. Fliers will be going out soon. <br /> Election of Officers <br /> o Chair- Mark Jurchen <br /> o Vice-Chair- Renee Moodie <br /> o Secretary - Faith Kimbler <br /> o Treasurer- Melissa Birch <br /> Faith made a motion that we approve this slate of officers as presented. Motion seconded by <br /> Courtney. <br /> New Business <br /> Renee Moody reported that a staff person from the city/volunteer fire fighter checked out the library <br /> safety exits, was looking for fire extinguishers, and stated there should be one in the children's room and in <br /> the meeting room. Also he stated that there are no smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors or AED. <br /> Renee is hoping to arrange some trainings for city staff and library volunteers. Melissa thinks we should do a <br /> staff training day and include safety. <br /> Saturday, May 9th is the Made in MN Authors Event and it has been well received. Kristi Taylor, Nancy Adams, <br /> and Melissa Birch are organizing it. Short author talks will be included this time.They will be limiting the <br /> amount of authors to 15. <br /> There was a suggestion to do a survey tally on the 4:00-5:00 hour on Mondays-Fridays to determine how <br /> many people use the library at this time. <br /> If the coronavirus comes to our community we will close the library. <br /> The Fourth of July parade was briefly discussed and whether or not the library should participate. <br /> Meeting was adjourned at 6:20pm. Renee made the motion and Courtney seconded. <br />
