MOTION <br />CARRIED 5 -0. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO REDEEM THE LAKES STATE <br />BANK CD #365 IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,063.25, A PORTION OF <br />WHICH IS TO BE USED FOR PAYMENT OF LEGAL AND <br />PROFESSIONAL EXPENSES ON THE LIBRARY PURCHASE, MINOR <br />BUILDING RENOVATIONS, AND THE BALANCE TO BE <br />CONSOLIDATED WITH THE REMAINING CD'S. COUNCIL MEMBER <br />SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />Council Member Ryan stated he had a problem spending water /sewer <br />funds for the Library. He requested the Council to consider transferring the <br />outstanding $85.43 to the water department. Council Member Sjoblad <br />suggested re- selling the 3 meters that will be removed and to place the <br />money in the water fund. It was the consensus of the Council that this was <br />a good idea. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO FORGIVE THE <br />OUTSTANDING WATER AND SEWER CHARGES OF $85.43. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 5 -0. <br />Discussion was held regarding a request to exempt the library building <br />from paying future water and sewer charges because the building is a City <br />building. Council Member Ryan stated he did not feel it was fair to the <br />water and sewer users to give free water to the City. It was noted that the <br />Chamber building also receives free water from the City. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO EXEMPT THE NEW <br />LIBRARY BULIDING FROM PAYING FUTURE WATER AND SEWER <br />CHARGES. MAYOR ADAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />Further discussion was held regarding whether the City should charge all <br />departments for water /sewer use. Council Member Sjoblad felt that this <br />would be a fair way to share the cost for water and sewer use. It was <br />suggested that if this is the route the City would go, then the Chamber <br />should also be included. Council Member Nagel suggested checking with <br />other cities to see if they charge City departments for this use. Council <br />Member Ryan suggested that the motion is not necessary due to the fact <br />
