facts and issue an order as to whether such dog is properly characterized <br /> as dangerous. If the City Council affirms the dangerous dog declazation, <br /> the owner shall comply with the registration and other requirements of <br /> Minn. Stat. §§ 347.54 to 347.565,as amended, within fourteen(14)days <br /> of such order. <br /> Section 9-Z.11. VARIOUS OFFENSES <br /> 1. No person shall keep or harbor a dog which habitaally bazks,yelps,howls,cries <br /> or whimpers so as to unreasonably disturb the peace and quiet of any person in the <br /> vicinity. The phrase"unreasonably disturb the peace and quiet"shail include but is not <br /> limited to,the creation of any noise by a dog which can be heazd by any person, <br /> including a law enforcement officer,from a location at least 75 feet from the building or <br /> premises where the dog is being kept,and such noise occurs over at least a five(5) <br /> minute period of time,with one(1)minute or Iess lapses of time between each dog noise <br /> during the said five(5)minute period. <br /> 2. It shall be considered a nuisance for any dog to frequent schoal grounds or pazks; <br /> to chase vehicles;to worry,chase,or molest any persons,if such person is not on the <br /> property of the owner of the dog;to wvrry,chase,or molest any persons traveiing <br /> peaceably on the public road;or to molest,defile or destroy any property,public ar <br /> private. FaiIure on the part of the owner to prevent his/her dog from committing an act of <br /> nuisance shall be subject to the penalties hereinafter provided. <br /> 3. It is unlawful for any unauthorized person to break open the pound,to attempt ta <br /> do so or to take or let out any dog therefrom,or to take or attempt to take from any <br /> offieer any dog taken up by an o�cer in compIiance with this Chapter,or in any manner <br /> to interfere with or hinder such officer in the discharge of duties under ttus Chaptcr_ <br /> 4. !t is unlawful to counterfeit or attempt to counterfeit the identification tags <br /> required in Section 9-2.7,or to take from any dog a tag legally placed upon it by its <br /> owner with the intention of placing it upon another dog. <br /> 5. Anyone walking their dog will be responsible for the prompt clean-up of the <br /> dogs' excrement and for its proper disposal. <br /> Section 9-2.12. VACCINATION:RABIES:PROCEDURE <br /> 1. Vaccination Required. Every dog six(6)months of age and older, at the expense <br /> of the owner,shall maintain a current rabies vaccination at all times,and the owner sball <br /> comply with the identification and proof of rabies vaccine requirern�nts of Section 9.2-7. <br /> 2. Rabies Proclamation. Whenever the prevalence of rabies rendets such action <br /> necessazy to protect the public's health and safety,the City Council,upon advice of the <br /> Crow Wing County Health Of�cer,shall issue a proclamation declaring such emergency. <br /> Any dog running at large during the time fixed in the proclamation and suspected of <br /> being rabid,may be euthanized by the Peq�ot Lakes Police Department without notice to <br /> the owner. <br /> Pequot Lakes City Code 86 <br />
