AGENDA ITEM #7.2 city of Pequot Lakes — REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL Report Prepared by: Tom Nelson, Pequot Lakes Fire Department Date: March 5, 2020 Subiect: Keep the Wreath Red Program Update Report: The Pequot Lakes Fire Department participated in the Keep the Wreath Red Program during the holiday season (Thanksgiving -end of January). The purpose of this Program is to help raise public awareness of the calls that the Fire Department responds to during the holidays. For every call the Department received from Thanksgiving to the end of January, the Department will replace a red bulb on the wreath with a white bulb. The goal is to help promote public safety. The PLFD responded to 19 calls during this time frame. This program was an eye opener to members of the Department, while we know that we get the calls, to have the visual reminder outside the fire hall was a good way to share this information with the public.
