MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br />TUESDAY, MAY 5, 2009 <br />PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br />11.1 <br />Members Present: Mayor Adams, Council Members Malecha, Ryan, Nagel, and <br />Sjoblad <br />Staff Present: Sandra Peine, City Clerk; Nancy Malecha, Finance <br />Administrator; Jerry Braam, Chief of Police; Tom Nelson, <br />Fire Chief; Mike Loven, Public Works Supervisor; Tim Houle, <br />and Mike Rude, City Engineers <br />Call Meeting to Order <br />Mayor Adams called the meeting of the Pequot Lakes City Council to <br />order at 6:30 p.m. <br />1.1 Pledge of Allegiance <br />Mayor Adams led with the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />2. Consider Agenda <br />Mayor Adams requested to move item 5.3 to 2.1. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS <br />AMENDED. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />2.1. Volunteer Service Awards <br />Officer Kate Petersen spoke about the Police Reserve Program. She <br />explained that she would be presenting Presidential Volunteer Service <br />Awards for three of the Reserve Officers. Officer Petersen noted that the <br />entire reserve unit received an award for hours worked. The following <br />individual awards were presented: <br />Sergeant J.D. Burns <br />Captain Carl Borleais <br />Garrett Wedan <br />Mayor Adams thanked the Reserves who received the awards and also <br />thanked all of the Reserves for the hours they put in and for the benefit <br />they provide to the City of Pequot Lakes. <br />
