recommending that there be no alcohol allowed in the
building.
This use policy has been reviewed by Mark Jurchen and
Paul Sandelin. Mark Jurchen had questioned whether the
policy requires certificates of insurance by all users. The
committee felt that it would be difficult for some groups,
especially some smaller non - profit or local organizations,
to provide insurance. Therefore the committee felt
comfortable including language in the use agreement that
indemnifies and holds harmless the city and its agents
against any and all claims. Paul Sandelin made one minor
change to the agreement.
If the Council approves the agreement, the City Clerk's
office will be responsible for implementing and processing
the rental of the building. The Public Works department
will be responsible for opening and closing the building
and for the maintenance of the building.
The committee has recommended naming the building
"The Cole Memorial — Community Building."
Council Action Requested: Council motion adopting the
use agreement for the Cole Memorial building and a name
change in the building to The Cole memorial — Community
Building.
