Pequat Lakes Police Monthly Report December 2019: During the month of December (1St-315Y),the Pequot Lakes Police Department has a record of 250 calls for service. Call types include but are not limited to: • Alarm • Civil Problem • Disturbance • Driving Complaint • Found Property • Intoxicated Person • Noise Complaint • Suspicious Activity • Theft • Threats • Welfare Check Notable Calls: On 12/22/19, Officer Jorgens conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding, loud exhaust and obstructed rear license plate. When speaking with the female driver, she admitted to not having current insurance on the vehicle. Officer Jorgens also detected the scent of marijuana. Upon a search of the vehicle, Officer Jorgens located a small amount of marijuana, a glass meth pipe and two small baggies containing meth. The female was subsequently arrested for felony 5th degree possession and misdemeanor no insurance. The vehicle was impounded by Turner Towing. On 12/28/19, Officer Matt Jorgens was working a TZD shift in Brainerd when he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a headlight out. The male driver stated he did not have a driver's license, proof of insurance or a title for the vehicle. While speaking with Officer Jorgens,the male appeared visibly nervous and was showing signs of recent drug use.The female passenger had an odor of alcohol on her breath while speaking with Officer Jorgens. When he asked her to step out of the vehicle, he observed an open bottle of liquor on the floorboards. Baxter Police Officer Halverson arrived to assist Officer lorgens with a search of the vehicle, which resulted in the finding of baggies of ineth and marijuana, hypodermic needles and other drug paraphernalia. The female was arrested for felony 5th degree possession and the male was arrested for misdemeanor DWI.
