PEQUOT TERRACE
. Manufactured Housing Community
PO Box 385 - Nisswa, MN 56468 - 218 - 963 -4495
March 13, 2009
City Council
City of Pequot Lakes
Pequot Lakes, MN
Dear Council Members,
The morning of Friday, March 61 at 8:30 a.m. a severe loss of water was observed at Lot A -12 of
Pequot Terrace. Tina Nolden was notified and assisted in promptly shutting off the water supply
from the city.
The rupture took place sometime during the night or early morning. Many thousands of gallons
of water was pumped aboveground and distributed over a large area and not being expelled into
the sewer lines.
Having to shut off the water supply 15 homes were without water. Fortunately we were able to
`.- have a locate done and a contractor with a back hoe was on scene at noon and by 3:00 P.M. a
new water riser was in place and water turned back on. The frost depth was about 3 Meet.
The request to the city council would be to forego sewer charges for the water that wasn't
disbursed to the city sewer lines.. The amount of gallons of water not disbursed to the city sewer
is over 100,000 gallons.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Hopefully this doesn't happen very often!
Sincerely,
Earl Hemmerich
