AGENDA ITEM # 9.5 ctry of Pequot Lakes = - REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL Report Prepared by: Jason Gorr — Public Works Director Date: January 7, 2020 Subiect: Request to Purchase Loader Report: The Public Works Department has conducted detailed research, demonstrations, and consultations with sales people and fellow public works directors in similar sized cities in our area. We received Sourcewell bids and State bids for loaders as listed below. • McCoy Construction Forestry—John Deere 544L Wheel Loader with HLA Snow Pusher and Grapple Bucket, Sourcewell contract bid of$203,903.85. • McCoy Construction Forestry—John Deere 544L Wheel Loader with HLA Snow Pusher and Grapple Bucket, estimated State contract bid of$212,211.63. • Ziegler Cat—Caterpillar 930M Wheel Loader with Snow Pusher and Grapple Bucket, State contract bid of$223,705. • Ziegler Cat— Caterpillar 930M Wheel Loader with Snow Pusher and Grapple Bucket, Sourcewell contract bid of$231,598.04. We are requesting to purchase the John Deere 544L Wheel Loader with Snow Pusher and Grapple Bucket from McCoy Construction Forestry through the Sourcewell contract bid of$203,903.85. We further request that the City's 1996 John Deere 310D Backhoe be traded in to McCoy Construction Forestry for a bill of sale of$20,500. This will decrease the net sale amount of the Loader to $183,403.85 to be paid from the 2020 Highway 371 Fund budget. Council Action Requested: Council motion to purchase the John Deere 544L Wheel Loader with Snow Pusher and Grapple Bucket from McCoy Construction Forestry and trade in the City's 1996 John Deere 310D Backhoe for a net sale amount of$183,403.85 to be paid from the 2020 Highway 371 Fund budget.
