City Council Minutes <br />April 7, 2009 <br />Page 8of10 <br />----------------------- - - - - -- <br />culverts under West Butler Street to help with the water problems in that <br />area. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />Mike Loven requested permission to calculate the cost to gravel and <br />asphalt additional streets. He indicated that he would like to see if it is <br />feasible to complete extra projects this year due to the bids coming in so <br />low. He noted he would like to get costs for paving South Oak Street from <br />Pillsbury to Pequot Blvd., an overlay for West Twin, and for paving Nickel <br />Road. <br />MAYOR MALECHA MOVED TO OBTAIN COSTS FOR QUANTITIES OF <br />GRAVEL AND ASPHALT FOR NICKEL ROAD, WEST TWIN LAKE <br />ROAD AND SOUTH OAK STREET FROM PILLSBURY TO PEQUOT <br />BOULEVARD. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />Council Member Ryan stated that there are no residents living on Nickel <br />Road. Mike Loven indicated that the road is a City road and is used by <br />many people who visit the State Wildlife Management Area. He indicated <br />that the road is difficult to keep in shape because the road is located in a <br />wetlands area. <br />Council Member Ryan indicated he would be more open to paving Sluetter <br />Road because there are more people living on that road than on Nickel <br />Road. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO AMEND THE MOTION TO <br />REMOVE NICKEL ROAD FROM THE LIST. THE AMENDMENT DIED <br />FOR LACK OF A SECOND. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO GET BIDS FOR NORTH AND SOUTH <br />SLUETTER. MAYOR ADAMS WITHDREW HER MOTION. <br />The Council requested Tim Houle to provide an estimate to pave North <br />and South Sluetter Road. <br />10.4. Trailside Estates Update <br />City Engineer Tim Houle gave an update on the Trailside Estates issue <br />relating to the depth of the water line that froze this winter. Tim noted that <br />the City met with the developer on March 12th to discuss the issue. He <br />
