CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br /> RESOLUTION 19- <br /> A RESOLUTION OF COOPERATION WITH THE CITIES OF PEQUOT LAKES AND <br /> BREEZY POINT AND THE TOWNSHIPS OF IDEAL AND JENKINS FOR <br /> IMPROVEMENTS TO AKERSON ROAD, BUSCHMANN ROAD, NELSON ROAD, <br /> AND WILD ACRES ROAD ALL WITHIN CROW WING COUNTY <br /> WHEREAS, WE (the cities of Pequot Lakes and Breezy Point and townships of Ideal <br /> and Jenkins) want to cooperate, to the extent our individual governmental entities can, <br /> on improvements to Akerson Road, Buschmann Road, Nelson Road, and Wild Acres <br /> Road (the "roads"); and <br /> WHEREAS, WE recognize these roads as inter-County connectors between County <br /> State Aid Highway (CSAH) 11 and CSAH 16 (Buschmann Road, Nelson Road, and <br /> Wild Acres Road) as well as County Road 112 and the new State Highway 371 <br /> (Akerson Road and Buschmann Road); and <br /> WHEREAS, WE recognize the various material pits along these roads generate traffic <br /> that is more inter-County, and beyond, than local; and <br /> WHEREAS, WE know with the combination of trucks and other vehicles, the terrain of <br /> most of these roads and the condition (width, pavement, drainage, etc.) of these roads <br /> are safety concerns to our public; and <br /> WHEREAS, WE know that the shared jurisdictional nature of these roads creates <br /> challenges in budgeting and scheduling amongst the four local jurisdictions; and <br /> WHEREAS, WE believe, due to the above realities, Crow Wing County's level of <br /> government is best suited to be the road authority on these roads; and <br /> WHEREAS, WE believe that all four entities need to cooperate with each other and with <br /> the County to implement improvements to these roads; and <br /> WHEREAS, WE acknowledge the total approximate centerline length of these roads <br /> equate to 34,100 feet with approximate frontage as defined below; and <br /> • Frontage in Pequot Lakes = 31,000 feet (45.4%) <br /> • Frontage in Breezy Point = 19,700 feet (28.9%) <br /> • Frontage in Ideal Township = 13,640 feet (20.0%) <br /> • Frontage in Jenkins Township = 3,860 feet (5.7%) <br /> • Total Frontage = 68,200 feet (100%) <br /> WHEREAS, WE know there are many questions that still need answers. <br />
