CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br /> RESOLUTION 19- <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE STATE OF MINNESOTA JOINT POWERS <br /> AGREEMENT REGARDING THE ANTI-HEROIN TASK FORCE PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pequot Lakes, on behalf of its Police Department, desires to <br /> enter into a Joint Powers Agreement with the State of Minnesota, Department of Public <br /> Safety, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to utilize applicable state and federal laws to <br /> investigate illicit activities related to the distribution of heroin or unlawful distribution of <br /> prescription opioids. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PEQUOT <br /> LAKES, MINNESOTA as follows: <br /> 1. That the Joint Powers Agreement between the State of Minnesota, <br /> Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the <br /> City of Pequot Lakes, on behalf of its Police Department, is hereby <br /> approved and attached thereof. <br /> 2. That the Chief of Police is designated the Authorized Representative for <br /> the Pequot Lakes Police Department. The Authorized Representative is <br /> also authorized to sign any subsequent amendment or agreement that <br /> may be required by the State of Minnesota to maintain the City's <br /> connection to the systems and tools offered by the State. <br /> 3. That the Mayor and the City Administrator for the City of Pequot Lakes are <br /> authorized to sign the State of Minnesota Joint Powers Agreement <br /> regarding the Anti-Heroin Task Force Program. <br /> Adopted by the City Council of the City of Pequot Lakes this 3�d day of December, 2019. <br /> James Tayloe <br /> ATTEST: Mayor <br /> Nancy Malecha <br /> City Administrator <br />
