�- PROCEDURES OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> PEQUOT LAKES, MINNESOTA <br /> Adopted: June 6, 2006 <br /> Amended: February 3, 2009 <br /> I. MEETINGS <br /> A. Open Meetings. All Council and Council committee meetings, including special <br /> and adjourned meetings, with the exception of closed meetings as defined, shall be open <br /> to the public. All meetings and notices of meetings are subject to Minnesota Statute 13D <br /> Minnesota Open Meeting Law. <br /> B. Ouoruni. At all Council meetings a majority of the elected Council Members <br /> shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. <br /> C. Council Meetings. <br /> `.. 1. Regular Meetings—The City Council shall meet on the first Tuesday of <br /> each month at 6:30 p.m. All meetings, including special, recessed, and <br /> continued meetings shall be held in the City Hall Council Chambers <br /> unless otherwise designated. <br /> 2. Special Meetings—Special meetings of the Council may be called by the <br /> Mayor or by any two (2) council members by written request, filed with <br /> the City Clerk at least three (3) days before the meeting. The City Clerk <br /> shall notify each member of the time, place, and purpose of the meeting by <br /> written notice delivered to the council member personally or by leaving a <br /> copy of the notice at the home of the member with a person of suitable age <br /> and discretion, at least one (1) day before the special meeting. <br /> 3. Closed Meetings—The State open meeting law allows certain matters to <br /> be discussed by the Council in a closed meeting. Before closing a meeting, <br /> the Council must state on the record the specific grounds permitting the <br /> meeting to be closed and describe the subject to be discussed. <br /> a. Notice—The City Clerk shall give advance notice of a closed <br /> meeting in the same manner as advance notice of other Council <br /> meetings. <br /> 1 i <br />
