Operations and Maintenance:
• The MN Department of Health Monthly Fluoridation Report was completed and
submitted.
• Feb. 4th, Jamie with Due North Construction (4625 Engen Rd.) called saying his water
line was frozen. Our water main was open so it was their responsibility to get their
service thawed.
• Feb. 12th, Lance and I installed a water meter at the Cole Memorial Bldg.
• Feb. 12th, John with Mortgage Contracting Services called saying the water line service
at 3853 Brown Street was frozen and he wanted the water shut off so they could thaw it.
• Feb. 13th, Daniel Hollen at 31426 Isabelle Drive called saying his water line was frozen.
We believed it to be their service line and recommended calling Jeremy Fyle to thaw it.
It was frozen between the water shut-off(curbstop) and the water main.
• Feb. 13th, Bryan Soukup tested our backflow devices at the Water Plant. Both are good.
• Feb. 15th, water line froze and broke at Old DNR Bldg. (30483 State Hwy. 371)
• Feb. 18th, Kurt and I installed a water meter at DG Towing (31244 Front St.)
• Feb. 18th, Eric with Hawkins stopped by and helped troubleshoot chlorine-feed system.
We replaced the chlorine lines going to each cylinder and now they're feeding properly.
• Feb. 19th, Attended MMUA Safety Meeting in East Gull Lake.
• Feb. 20th, Water main at Trailside Estates froze. Jeremy Fyle tried thawing, but couldn't
get hose to go in the right direction. Had Ritter& Ritter Co. come out on Feb. 21St and
.. they were able to thaw it. Then, flushed the dead-end hydrant to remove any additional
ice. After that, I put a valve on the 2-1/2 inch nozzle and reduced it down to a garden
hose, running it into the nearby manhole to keep water flowing so the main won't freeze
again. Also told residents to keep their water running as well.
