AGENDA ITEM # 9.6
City of
Pequot
Lakes! --
REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL
Report Prepared by: Nancy Malecha, Jason Gorr, & Tim Houle
Date: November 5, 2019
Subiect: North Sluetter Road Project
Report: On September 25t'' Nancy Malecha, Jason Gorr, Tim Houle, and an
Anderson Brothers representative met onsite on North Sluetter Road to discuss the
Council's September 3rd motion approving the pavement of this Road with a rustic
road definition. The following are items/concerns for further Council discussion
and direction to Staff.
• The southerly portion of North Sluetter Road is relatively adequate in width,
condition, slope, and drainage and with typical construction could be paved
easily with basic steps taken. See attached map.
• In contrast, the central portion of North Sluetter Road will require clearing,
grubbing, ditching/drainage, and better roadbed prep to create a road that
will not have major premature pavement and shoulder degradation. See
attached map.
• The northerly portion of North Sluetter Road is already adequately paved
and allows for proper drainage as well. See attached map. In 2005, this
roadway portion was constructed by the developer as required by the City
prior to accepting maintenance responsibilities.
• Will this be a special assessment project?
Also, the following is information previously provided to the Council at the
September 3rd City Council Meeting regarding estimated improvement costs as
provided by Anderson Brothers.
• Rural Road - $288,419
