Enclosed please find a resolution that we are asking the City to act upon at its earliest convenience. The
resolution, for municipal consent of a county project within city limits, involves placing curve delineation
signs on various roadways throughout the county, including CR 107 within Pequot Lakes.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation keeps a list entitled "High Risk Rural Roads Program"
(HRRRP)which identifies segments of roadways throughout the state with higher than expected crash
rates. In Crow Wing County, one of the identified problem areas for these roadways is run-off-the-road
types of accidents.
Our department was successful in obtaining a federal safety grant to purchase curve delineation signs,
or chevrons,to be placed on the roadways included on the HRRRP list that haven't already been
addressed. Part of the process of utilizing federal funds is receiving municipal approval, regardless of
the scope of work. There will be no cost to the city.
We are requesting that the City pass this resolution and provide us with a certified copy of such. If you
would like a representative at a future council meeting or would like to further discuss the project, feel
free to contact our office.
Sincerely,
)6CL_J/
Robert Hall
Assistant County Engineer
AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
