DETAILED PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Please describe the project for which you are <br />requesting funds. Include activities involved in completing the project, dates, number of <br />performances, names of artists or companies (attach supporting documents or promotional <br />items for artists /companies, for which you are requesting funds). Also describe any other <br />information that will help the Arts Council understand your project. What in particular will the <br />requested grant funds provide? <br />Dave Guenther, Pequot Lakes High School Art Instructor, Kevin Olson, retired postal worker, and Jamie <br />Cardell, student at Pequot Lakes High School will design the mural. <br />Dave, Kevin, and Jamie, along with other interested volunteers, will project and mark the design on the side <br />of the Pfeiffer Drug building. <br />Volunteers, under the guidance of Dave and Kevin, will paint the mural. These will include students, adult <br />volunteers, and those walking by who are encouraged to pick up a paint brush and participate. <br />The project will have prior publicity in the Echo, Pequot Lakes' weekly newspaper. <br />PROJECT NEED: Describe the need for this project <br />Pequot Lakes, like many small cities, is struggling economically. This project will provide a boost to the <br />community via local participation and will enhance the downtown area with the hopes of attracting visitors to <br />Pequot Lakes. <br />
