MINUTES <br /> CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br /> SAFETY COMMITTEE <br /> September 4,2019 <br /> 8:38 AM <br /> PRESENT: Nancy Malecha, City Administrator; Jason Gorr, Public Works Director; <br /> Tom Nelson, Fire Chief; Eric Klang, Police Chief; and Dawn Bittner, Safety Program <br /> Administrator. <br /> ABSENT: Chad Turcotte, Police Sergeant; Union Representative; and Mimi Swanson, <br /> Council Liaison. <br /> 1. Review of Minutes: <br /> A motion was made by Nancy Malecha, seconded by Tom Nelson, to approve the May 1, <br /> 2019 Minutes, as read. All members voted"aye". Motion carried. <br /> 2. Mock OSHA Inspection—Violation Remedies: <br /> The Committee reviewed the violation spreadsheet and updated the items completed. <br /> Nancy Malecha requested the uncompleted items be remedied by the end of October. <br /> 3. Controlled Work Areas—Administration and Police: <br /> Nancy Malecha stated she had preliminary discussions with WSN to better utilize City <br /> Hall. The 2020 Budget includes funding for a more formal study. The goal is to have all <br /> offices on the first floor, including the Police Deparhnent and Council Chambers. <br /> 4. Citv OSHA Comt�liance: <br /> Nancy Malecha received an email from SafeAssure outlining what they provide for <br /> OSHA compliance. It was the consensus of the Committee to continue with MMUA. <br /> 5. SDS Sheets: <br /> Bittner reminded the Department Heads to update their SDS Manuals and to update the <br /> manual in the Administration Office. Nancy Malecha requested each department <br /> complete this by the end of the year. <br /> 6. Work Place Safety and Health: <br /> Nancy Malecha reported there were no incidents in our control. A patron at the Library <br /> fainted and a police quad was backed into. There were no employees involved. <br /> 7. Work Place Injury Review: <br /> Nancy Malecha reported there were 2 incidents. A Public Works employee injured his <br /> leg in a freak accident with an ATV and a Public Works employee suffered neck and <br /> back sprain mowing. <br /> 8. Other Business: <br /> Bittner reported the May Minutes indicated the Administration Staff was to perform a <br /> tornado drill and to test the panic buttons. She will contact the Police Department Office <br /> 1 <br />
