Senator Ruud was chosen for this <br /> recognition because of her authorship of legislation to grant cities state funding to <br /> combat emerald ash borer and for being a vocal defender of local control. <br /> The City of Pequot Lakes congratulates Senator Carrie Ruud on her Legislator of <br /> Distinction award, we commend her for her support of city-friendly legislation to <br /> continue strengthening the partnership between state and local government <br /> officials, and we thank her for her support of our community. <br /> Council Action Requested: Council motion congratulating Senator Came Ruud <br /> as a Legislator of Distinction for 2019, commend her for supporting city-friendly <br /> legislation to strengthen state and local government partnerships, and thank her for <br /> supporting our community. <br />
