Discussion pursued regarding the obligation to maintain the tower. Lisa <br />Paxton indicated that a new agreement would be drafted showing the <br />Chamber's commitment toward the maintenance of the bobber tower. <br />Council Member Ryan requested that the maintenance obligation be <br />separated from the lease of the building. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO AMEND THE MOTION TO <br />EXCLUDE ANY PROVISIONS WITHIN THE LEASE AGREEMENT <br />RELATED TO THE ONGOING COMMITMENT FOR MAINTENANCE OF <br />THE BOBBER TOWER. Bobber Tower Electric Bill <br />The Clerk noted that the Chamber has requested the City to pay the <br />electric bill for the bobber water tower lights. <br />Council Member Ryan stated that the City had relieved the Chamber of <br />the obligation to pay rent on the original building lease. He requested staff <br />to research the terms of the original lease. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO TABLE THIS ISSUE UNTIL THE <br />ORIGINAL AMOUNT OF THE LEASE CAN BE DETERMINED. MAYOR <br />ADAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4 -1. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER SJOBLAD OPPOSED. <br />I understand that the cost of the electricity is approximately <br />$1,000 per year. In order to act on this issue, the Council <br />must remove the above - motion, which was made on <br />December 6, 2011, from the table. <br />Council Action Requested: Council decision on whether <br />or not the City should pay for the electricity. <br />
