6. Community Action Tree Donation

August 30, 2019 To: Pequot Lakes Park Board From: Community Action of Pequot Lakes To provide shade at the Pequot Lakes Dog Park, Community Action of Pequot Lakes would like to make a donation of 3 maple trees each approximately 3 �/z" to 4" in diameter to be planted inside the fence system. The trees will be delivered directly to the Park where they will need to be installed immediately. Babinski Properties has an attachment for tree planting that the City can use with the City skid loader. If the City chooses not to plant these trees, Community Action will pay for the trees to be planted by a Babinski employee. All trees should be planted by October 15, 2019, at the latest. In addition, to improve the looks of the entire park area, Community Action of Pequot Lakes would like to donate three to five pine trees of modest size to be planted around the grounds of the Dog Park. Again, Babinski Properties has an attachment for tree planting that the City can use with the City skid loader. If the City chooses not to plant these trees, Community Action will pay for the trees to be planted by a Babinski employee. These trees should also be planted by October 15 2019, t the latest. The total value of this donation is approximately $2,500. In order to make this project possible, Community Action of Pequot Lakes will need an acceptance of the project as soon as possible so delivery of the trees can be combined with other deliveries coming to the area.
