AGENDA ITEM #9.4 <br /> cZ�y of <br /> Pequot <br /> Lakes= - <br /> REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL <br /> Report Prepared by: Nancy Malecha <br /> Date: September 3, 2019 <br /> Subiect: North Sluetter Road Improvement Discussion <br /> Report: At the August 6t'' City Council Meeting, the Council moved to <br /> provide numbers for North Sluetter Road pavement costs to Jason Murray with <br /> David Drown Associates to analyze as part of the City's capital improvement plan. <br /> In an effort to provide Mr. Murray with accurate improvement costs for North <br /> Sluetter Road as a potential rural road or rustic road, Anderson Brothers was <br /> contacted and provided the following information. <br /> • Rural Road - $288,419 <br /> • Rustic Road- $162,384 (Per MN Statute 160.83, a rustic road must have the <br /> following characteristics: outstanding natural features or scenic beauty; an <br /> average daily traffic volume of less than 150 vehicles per day; year-round <br /> use as a local access road; and maximum allowable speed of 45 miles per <br /> hour.) <br /> A couple of things that are not included in the pricing: <br /> • Culverts: Should be around $3,500-$5,000 each for replacement depending <br /> on the size and length. <br /> • Clearing and grubbing: Without doing extensive work in the field I cannot <br /> give you a good guess as to where that would come in at. Depending on <br /> how many, how big the trees are and how easy they will come down, this <br /> could be in the ,$S,000-�10,000 range. <br /> • Ditchwork: Again, without any real extensive work on our end, I have no <br /> idea the volume of dirt that would be needed to fill in the slopes to the <br /> requirements you had sent. I don 't know for sure if there is even enough <br /> room to fit in the specs fo� the rural road which would amount to a fairly <br />
