2. Health Insurance — The budget reflects a 20% increase for health insurance <br /> premiums. <br /> 3. Elections Budget — 2020 is an election year, thus the increase in <br /> expenditures. These expenditures will be funded by capital outlay <br /> carryover funds. <br /> 4. General Building — Engineering Fees — For needs study and design services <br /> for potential upgrades to City Hall. <br /> 5. General Building — Contract Services — For parking lot stripes, fire <br /> extinguisher certifications, lawn service, elevators, cleaning services, alarm <br /> system monitoring, library rugs rental, sprinkler system repair/startup, pest <br /> control, and carpet cleaning. <br /> 6. General Building— Capital Outlay Carryover— For improvements to <br /> buildings. <br /> 7. Police— Legal Fees — For the change in Prosecuting Attorney. <br /> 8. Fire Contracts — Contract Services — For Pequot Lakes and Nisswa fire <br /> services. <br /> 9. Roads & Streets — Contract Services — For grading, calcium chloride, fire <br /> extinguisher certifications, crack sealing, street sweeping, bituminous <br /> apron/gutter road rehab, and striping. <br /> 10. Park— Operating Supplies — For mulch, flowers, flag display maintenance <br /> supplies, Christmas display lights and miscellaneous. <br /> 11. Insurance —For workers compensation and property and casualty insurance <br /> costs. <br /> 12. Recycling — For increased recycling by refuse haulers. <br /> 13. Highway 371 — Capital Outlay— For the purchase of a front end loader. <br /> The purpose of this meeting is to thoroughly review the budgets. This is an <br /> opportunity for the Council to make changes to the budgets which will be included <br /> in the preliminary levy presented to the Council on September 3rd. The deadline <br /> for setting the preliminary tax levy is September 30th. This number can be <br /> decreased but not increased prior to setting the final levy in December. <br /> Please feel free to call or stop in if you have any questions regarding the budgets or <br /> the budget process. <br /> Council Action Requested: Council discussion and direction on the 2020 <br /> Preliminary Budgets and Levy. <br />
