EDC Minutes <br />September 18, 2018 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />----------------------------- <br /> <br /> <br />6. Economy Task Force Update <br /> <br /> No update was presented. <br /> <br />7. School Update <br /> <br /> Commissioner Lindholm shared the school’s homecoming is next week <br />and the football game will be at 6:00 on Friday, September 28th. He <br />added that he had presented the school board with enrollment projections <br />for the next five years showing a growth for the middle and high school <br />level and the need for additional faculty. <br /> <br />8. Chamber Update <br /> <br /> Katie Wasserman stated the Chamber had 1500 more people walk <br />through the visitor center in August than last year at the same time and <br />has gained approximately 300 more Facebook followers since the <br />beginning of April. She shared some events the Chamber is involved in to <br />include: <br /> October 1st – Business Spotlight A to Z <br /> October 1st – City Candidate Forum at the High School Auditorium <br />from 6:30 to 8:30 PM <br /> October 15th – Business Showcase hosted by Landis Gyr from 5:00 <br />to 6:30 PM <br /> Ms. Wasserman also noted that the Chamber has partnered with the City <br />to do a Business to Business (B2B) which is an opportunity for all <br />businesses in Pequot Lakes to build a network of other businesses and <br />she stated more information can be found on their website and Facebook <br />page. <br /> <br />9. BLAEDC Update <br /> <br /> Tyler Glynn stated BLAEDC has a lot of projects going on right now and <br />included the information about the Unified Fund monies that are available. <br /> Nancy Malecha inquired if there was an electronic marketing piece <br />available on the Unified Fund. Mr. Glynn indicated that he can send some <br />marketing information to the City but does not have anything in an <br />electronic format. <br /> <br />10. City of Jenkins Update <br /> <br />Commissioner Lubke noted MnDot has added a left hand turn lane on <br />State Highway 371 at Lilac Street.
