Current Goals and Initiatives - Stay the course and remain focused on long term job creation and <br />economic diversification goals: <br />a. General Employment and Wage Goals 2010 -2020 <br />L Increase the number of jobs in CWC by approximately 1% per year resulting in <br />250 new jobs per year. <br />ii. Increase average wages by 2% per year from $600 per week to $720 per week. <br />b. BLADC's Two Year Project Goals for 2010 and 2011 <br />L 10 Projects <br />ii. 50 Jobs <br />iii. $5 million dollars being invested in our community <br />c. Work Plan Overview <br />i. Start up <br />ii. Business Retention and Expansion <br />iii. Attraction (Attraction proarams have come to the forefront as a result of our <br />2020 Plan and increased staff capacity to allocate to this effort.) <br />1. Several proarams have currently been launched or are in process <br />including: <br />a. airport video project <br />b. Shovel Ready Site Certification, <br />c. ED networkina proarams like Positively Minnesota, <br />d. generic advertising campaigns in local publications, <br />e. website update, <br />f. development of industry sector proposals, <br />g. BLADC branding and packaging of our services. <br />2. Marketing strategies for Manufacturing and Tech Services industry <br />sectors are being solidified including: <br />a. local events to highlight strategic properties, <br />b. identification of prospects, <br />c. site visits to companies in Minnesota, <br />d. trade shows, <br />e. industry publication ads, etc. <br />BLADC represents a multi - government economic development program that is affordable for all Crow <br />Wing County communities. <br />A local business and community leader recently noted "Economic development organizations, like <br />BLADC, are more important than ever. Elected officials, business leaders and non - profit executives need <br />to continue their partnerships, and if possible enhance them, to lead the way to a brighter future. <br />WHY BLADC? <br />BLADC is confident that our economic development initiatives are fundamentally sound, financially <br />prudent, and results oriented.
