� to prevent signs from intruding on the rural and residential character of the <br /> City;to provide adequate signs for direction and property identification <br /> purposes; and to provide adequate and effective signs for commercial use.The <br /> city finds with specific respect to offsite signs: <br /> a. That the regulation of offsite signs within the city is required in the <br /> interests of the economic prosperity, civic pride, quality of life and <br /> general welfare of the people; <br /> b. That it is desirable to preserve and perpetuate uncluttered and natural <br /> views for the enjoyment and environmental enrichment of the citizens <br /> of the community and visitors hereto; <br /> c. That the regulation of offsite signs will foster civic pride in the beauty <br /> of the city,will enhance the aesthetic values of the city and its economic <br /> vitality,will protect properry values,will protect and enhance the city's <br /> attraction to tourists and visitors; <br /> d. That the regulation of offsite signs will strengthen and preserve the <br /> municipality's unique environmental heritage and enhance the quality <br /> of life of its citizens; and <br /> e. That the regulation of offsite signs within the city is necessary for the <br /> promotion of safety upon the streets and highways in the City. <br /> 6. Offsite Signs—General. <br /> �' A. Off-site signs are prohibited, except as allowed pursuant to <br /> Subsection 6.B. <br /> B. Offsite signs shall be allowed as follows: <br /> (i) Size: The maximum sign area for any one face shall not exceed <br /> 40o square feet. Such rnaximum size limitation shall apply to each <br /> face of a sign structure. Signs may be placed back-to-back. "V"type <br /> construction shall be allowed not to exceed 3o degrees. All square <br /> footage area requirements shall include border and exclude <br /> structural supports. No stacked signs shall be allowed. <br /> Construction shall be on a monopole or double post. <br /> (2) Location: An off-site sign shall be located only in the Offsite <br /> Sign Overlay District. <br /> (4) Height: The maximum height of an offsite sign shall not exceed <br /> go feet above road grade at sign stationing or 4o feet above local <br /> grade. <br /> � (5) Spacing: No offsite sign shall be located closer than 2,00o feet <br /> to any other offsite sign. <br /> 2 <br />
