Qov <br />www.peguotiakes-mn.gov <br />Report to City Council <br />January 3, 2012 <br />INCIDENT REPORTS: <br />• To date, the Department has logged 130 individual ICR's. <br />DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES: <br />Eric Kiang <br />Chief of Police <br />4638 County Road 11 <br />Pequot Lakes, MN 56472 <br />• Officer Petersen is back at the School beginning December 1. She has been busy working with <br />staff and students, assisting the school with truancies and implementing a program for the Middle <br />School on bullying. Officer Petersen also represented the Department attending the Christmas <br />Ball in Crosslake. <br />• The Reserve Officers continue to provide foot patrol for athletic events at the High School. <br />• The Department assisted in the delivery of Christmas Gifts on December 24. This is an annual <br />event and we are honored to take part in this great effort to ensure that kids have a memorable <br />Christmas. <br />• CSAH 11 Project — Representatives have been meeting to discuss the County Road 11 mill and <br />overlay project which is scheduled to start next summer. This project will run from Pequot Lakes <br />to Breezy Point. <br />• LARJP — Chief Klang will be representing the City by serving on the Board for the Lakes Area <br />Restorative Justice Program. He will be promoting this program along with providing input from <br />the law enforcement perspective. <br />• Passenger Safety Coalition — Chief Kiang is a member of the Passenger Coalition and has met <br />with them to discus new strategies for alcohol enforcement, texting and driving, and MADD <br />nominations for Officers of the Year. <br />• Chief Kiang serves on the Domestic Violence Committee for the State. They are currently looking <br />at whether or not a "best practice policy" needs to be developed statewide on their response for <br />domestic violence calls. <br />• The Officers and Staff continue to strive to work together to keep the department efficient. <br />TRAINING: <br />• December 3 — Officer Gartner, EMT -B Refresher Course; <br />• December 8 — BCA Training, Jeanyne Alderson and Dawn Bittner; <br />• December 22 — LETG Training, Jeanyne Alderson and Dawn Bittner <br />Completed December 28, 2011 <br />
