Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br />Report to the City Council <br />August 31st, 2010 <br />For the month of August the Department logged 467 individual ICRs. <br />Current Activities: <br />During the month, the Reserves, Part-time and Fulltime Officers conducted 654 individual security <br />checks of businesses and homes throughout the month, with only 2 open doors found at area <br />businesses. <br />Reserves continued to provide foot patrol and public assistance during the Thursday Market's in the <br />Park and at the Summer Concerts as well as during the Choke Cherry Festival, National Night Out and <br />also assisted with traffic control for a community concert that was held at Gloria Dei. <br />The Reserves hosted a Skywarn Weather Spotter training for unit members and the general public. <br />This training is provided by the National Weather Service. There were 27 people present for the <br />training. <br />All of the forfeitures that were recently on the state auction site have now been sold and picked up by <br />the new owners. We have two other DWI forfeitures that are pending with the court. <br />Training: <br />Aug 3 & 4: Chief Braam and Officer Petersen both attended the Crisis Management Team training <br />with staff from the School District. <br />Significant Case: <br />During the month of August the Part-time Officers Herold and Melberg recorded 8 DWI arrests between <br />the two of them. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Kate Petersen <br />Interim Chief of Police <br />M <br />
