AMOUNT OF $2,679.25 TO BE PAID FOR WITH THE PUBLIC WORKS CAPITAL OUTLAY FUND. COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON SECONDED THE MOTION. Discussion ensued about whether the City should obtain this parcel or let Crow Wing County offer it for sale. Council Member Swanson stated she sees a lot of people using this access and questioned if it could be an easement. Nancy Malecha asked Tim Houle if he could give an explanation of what an easement is. Tim Houle stated an easement would be a right of access but does not give other rights as property ownership would and added that he wasn't sure if it would be possible at this time to obtain the property from the County as an easement. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 6.5. Planning Commission Apqointment COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO APPOINT LAURA LARSON TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION WITH A TERM ENDING ON DECEMBER 31, 2019. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. D. Potential Violations/Enforcement Actions: The City Staff is currently worlang on the following potential violations/enforcement actions. We will report on each of these each month until they are resolved to the satisfaction of the Planning Commission. ➢ John and Barbara Derksen— Exterior storage. Mr. Derksen has brought this property into compliance except for the snowmobiles. Staff has requested he reduce his Recreational Vehicles to 3• �5/13) ➢ Diane Koval — Exterior storage. Staff issued a Land Use Permit for an addition to the existing accessory structure. (4/16) ➢ Robert Swenson—The City Council declared this property a public nuisance in 201�. We are using our new enforcement procedures in 2oi8 to gain compliance. (6/i6) ➢ Timothy&Kristi Crist— Exterior Storage and Lawn. On May 3�, 20�8 Mr. Christ invited Staff onto his property on Pine Street and e�cplained his plans to remove the exterior storage. Staff will continue to monitor and meet with Mr. Crist.
