Pequot Lakes Police Dept.
Report to the City Council
July 281h, 2010
So far for the month of July the Department has logged more than 440 individual ICRs.
Current Activities:
So far for the month, the Reserves and Fulltime Officers have conducted 326 individual security checks
of businesses and homes throughout the month, with 4 open doors found at area businesses.
Almost the entire department worked during the activities for both the 3`d and 4th of July festivities. The
parade went the smoothest it has ever gone and to date neither the City nor the Chamber have
received any complaints on how the events were handled. The new shuttle bus coming from Eagle
View Elementary was well used and helped alleviate parking issues here in town.
Reserves have been providing foot patrol and public assistance during the Thursday Market's in the
Park, at the Summer Concerts as well as during both Bean Hole Days and the MS Tram event that just
took place this week.
The Reserves provided 24 hr coverage during the MS Tram event, providing security during the night
monitoring the bicycles while the riders slept. Because of the volume of lightning that was occurring
along with the severe weather during the MS Tram event on Tuesday, the emergency siren had to be
activated to be able to warn the more than 900 participants that they needed to seek shelter.
All of the forfeiture and old city vehicles that were recently on the state auction site have now been sold
and picked up by the new owners. We have another DWI forfeiture that will be going up on the auction
site within the next week.
Respectfully Submitted,
Jerry Braam
Chief of Police
