City of Pequot Lakes Draft Vacation Rental Policy/Ordinance <br /> This section outlines short-term vacation rentals within the City of Pequot Lakes, MN for <br /> the purpose of allowing property owners to offer their property for rent while mitigating <br /> impacts upon surrounding properties, neighborhood as well as water/environmental <br /> quality and general public safety. <br /> License/Permit Required by the City <br /> No property owner shall rent or cause to be rented a dwelling unit or efficiency dwelling <br /> unit within Pequot Lakes for a period less than thirty(30) days without first obtaining a <br /> license/permit from the Zoning Administrator pt�rsuant to the requirements of this <br /> Ordinance. <br /> Application, Fee Requirements and Effec#ive Period <br /> A property owner seeking a license/permit under this Ordinance shall submit a complete <br /> application to the Zoning Administrator and pay the required fee, which shall be <br /> determined from time to time by resolution of the City Gouncil. License/permit will not <br /> be issued and rental/lease will not be allowed until all application requirements are met. <br /> The application shall include the following: <br /> 1. Rental application completed and yearly fee of$25 paid in full. Annual <br /> application fee period is January 1 to December 31 each calendar year and not <br /> based on when application is made within a calendar year. <br /> 2. Sketch floor plan of structure, including the number of bedrooms numbered 1, 2, <br /> 3, etc. and all other sleeping accommodations not specific to a bedroom. <br /> 3. A site plan which shows locations of property lines, the dwelling unit(s) to be <br /> rented, septic tank location(s), drain field location(s) and specific parking areas <br /> that will be used by renters for vehicles and trailer parking. <br /> 4. Property owner will provide a certificate of septic system inspection less than <br /> three (3) years old showing that the system is compliant with then applicable <br /> Minnesota Rules and any applicable municipal ordinances, and then at least <br /> once every three (3) years thereafter shall provide an updated certificate of septic <br /> testing showing that the system is compliant for the number of bedrooms <br /> indicated in the application. <br /> 5. If property was rented the prior calendar year a written listing of dates/periods the <br /> property was rented and number of persons in each rental period. <br />
