City Council Minutes <br /> August 7, 2018 <br /> Page 3 of 8 <br /> added that a donation for$250,000 toward the bathroom facility in <br /> Trailside Park has been lost and she was told by a potential business <br /> owner they have changed their mind about opening a business in this area <br /> for now. <br /> George Selvestra inquired if there would be a possibility of a referendum I <br /> on the election in November whether it be for or against the Trailside Park <br /> Project. Nancy Malecha addressed Mr. Selvestra's question stating, per ' <br /> the City Attomey, the Trailside Park Project is not in the statutory authority , <br /> required for a referendum. Ms. Malecha added the City can only have I <br /> referendums if there is statutory requirements that allow the City to have a � <br /> referendum for the project. � <br /> Dr. Michelle Lelwica inquired if the City is against the type of bond that �I <br /> requires a referendum vote. Nancy Malecha explained there are different i, <br /> bonds for different types of projects and not all bonds require a ' <br /> referendum vote. <br /> Council Member Akerson indicated that the bond the City was looking at ' <br /> included the road project and the park project. Nancy Malecha clarified <br /> that the street and utility improvement projects would be funded with the '', <br /> Highway 371 tum-back monies and the Trailside Park Amenities Project ', <br /> would be bonded. � <br /> 5. Presentations <br /> There were no presentations. � <br /> 6. Planninc� and ZoninA I <br /> 6.1. Planninq Commission Report ', <br /> The August 1, 2018 Planning Commission Report was received by <br /> Council. <br /> Council Member Pederson requested an update on the Community Sign. <br /> Nancy Malecha stated the construction of the sign will begin at the end of � <br /> August 2018 with completion the beginning of September 2018. The City <br /> has received $2,200 in donations towards the lighting of the sign from � <br /> Pequot Lakes Dairy Queen, Nancy Adams, S&R Quisberg, Expressions <br /> Shoe Center, Lonesome Cottage Fumiture and Pequot Lakes Community <br /> Action. Mayor Adams added there has also been an in-kind donation for <br /> the landscaping from Babinski Properties. � <br />
