• ' I
POLICE Eric Klang
218.568.8111 Chief of Police
Fax 218.568.5647 ' 4638 Main St
plpd(cpequotlakes-mn.gov Pequot Lakes,MN 56472
www.pequotlakes-mn.gov
City of Pequot Lakes
RE: Generator
T'he City of Pequot Lakes has received two quotes for installation and set-up for two types of generators
for City Hall. Police Chief Klang and Fire Chief Nelson have worked together and it is the
recommendation to utilize Vision Electrical Services, Inc. out of Baxter. Vision Electrical has submitted
an estimate for budget purposes but their formal quote has not been received as of yet. Vision Electrical
informal estimate is lower than Generator Power Systems quote.
It is our recommendation to move forward with a natural gas 60KW Briggs three phase generator(GM
engine), 600am automatic transfer switch, Cement pad included, all shipping, tax setup, $40,000. This
does not include gas connection which would be an additional $2,000 to $3,000 for this connection and
upgrade.
PLPD is researching grants to pay for approximately$5,000 of this council directed initiative.
Approximately$38,000 shall be paid for through the reserves, capital outlay, general budget and any
savings from a11 departments. PLPD will continue to seazch for grants to offset the$38,000 expenditure.
If you have any questions feel free to contact either Chief or Sgt. Turcotte.
Thank you,
Sgt. Chad Turcotte
