COMING TO <br />PEQUOT LAKES <br />JULY 27 -289 2010 <br />Staff ibune <br />The Star Tribune MS TRAM Ride 2010 will take cyclists on a five day, 250 -300 mile, two wheel excursion on one large loop <br />through the beautiful Central Lakes region of Minnesota - riding through Alexandria, Little Falls, Pequot Lakes, Wadena, <br />Fergus Falls, and finishing back in Alexandria. On July 27, 2010 MS TRAM will lead 1,000 or more iron - bottomed bicycle <br />adventurers on a breath taking, lake studded ride from Little Falls to Pequot Lakes. They will leave early Wednesday <br />morning to ride on to Wadena. This $850,000 anticipated fundraising bike ride promises to offer small town hospitality, <br />fun and friends on a five -day cycling vacation. Pequot Lakes needs to roll out our Paul Bunyan sized hospitality and make <br />sir stay unforgettable! <br />Approximately 700 of the bicyclers will camp on the south side of the Trailside Park. 35 RV units will be parking along the <br />fringes of the park and parking lots. The Americlnn, Breezy Point Resort, Leisure Suites, Nisswa Motel, and Days Inn have <br />links to their websites from the MS TRAM registration site. Americlnn reported that all of their rooms were reserved <br />within the first day of posting. Two school buses will be used for shuttling 250 bicyclers to area hotels and area <br />businesses. Alternative private housing is being requested for approximately the remaining 50 riders. 3,000 pieces of <br />luggage will be unloaded and loaded by the Pequot Lakes High School Girls Varsity Hockey Team. <br />These bicycle riders aren't your typical water and granola bar bikers. MS TRAM riders like to enjoy the asthetics of each <br />town that is a stop and have fun! Mayson's Grille has agreed to be the official MS TRAM beer garden site. Grace United <br />Methodist Church will host a Pasty Dinner for 200 -250 of the participants. Local restaurants are encouraged to offer MS <br />TRAM specials and be a sponsor for a shuttle bus stop site. Food vendors and non - profit organizations are being solicited <br />for sites in the Trailside Park. <br />Chamber members can have a booth site in the Trailside Park to sell their services and products (chiropractic, massage, <br />nails, hair...) at a reduced charge. Other forms of services are also being sought for booth sites (body art, self portraits, <br />photography...).
