PEQUOT LAKES AREA FIRE BOARD <br /> MEETING MINUTES JULY 25,2018 <br /> The quarterly meeting of the PLAFB was called to order by Chairman Peterson.The minutes of the last <br /> meeting were not read due to a motion by Adams,second by Hart,motion passed. <br /> The second quarter fire call report was discussed.There were 24 calls this year and 22 during the same <br /> period last year. By types,there were 6 structure fires,5 grass fires,4 mutual aid structure fires,3 fire <br /> alarm systems,2 outside fires,2 personal injury accidents,l propane explosion with injuries,and 1 <br /> medical assist. By location,there were 7 to City of Breery Point,4 to Loon Lake Township,3 to City of <br /> Jenkins,2 to City of Pequot Lakes,2 to Nisswa,and 1 each to Jenkins Township,ldeal Township,Crosslake, <br /> Pine River,Wilson Township,and Wadena County. <br /> The training report totaled 22 hours.By types,there were 8 hours live house burn,7 hours pump <br /> operetion,3 hours CPR/AED/choking classes,2 hours mock car crash/auto extrication,&2 hours auto <br /> extrication. <br /> The second quarter financial report was discussed.All information seemed to be in line.Bartels motioned '� <br /> to approve4 the report,second by Sodd,motion passed. �'I <br /> The second quarter fire personnel/operations report was discussed.Casey Emans resigned from the ' <br /> Department. New back-up cameras were purchased for our tankers and utility truck using donations to <br /> finance.Our Explorer program supervisors all completed a special training class from the Boy Scouts � <br /> Association.The Department applied for the DNR matching funds grant to heip finance radios.Radio costs <br /> have increased from approximately$1500.00 each to$2600.00 each.The Department provided a fire <br /> engine to the Breery Point air show.Two 65"televisions were purchased to�eplace an aging projection <br /> system that is used in our Training Room.The Department loaned tables to the School for the annual Art <br /> Expo.A house bum training uvas done in Jenkins.The Department provided fire trucks to area parades in <br /> Pequot lakes,Nisswa,and Pine River this coming week-e�d. <br /> A new Ford e�ctended cab truck has been order�d to replace our old grass truck.The projected cost is <br /> $37,935.00.The pump skid unit from the old tna�k will be installed in the new one. This truck will be used <br /> as a utility vehicle year round to provide equipm�nt hauling and personnel transport to calls.Financing <br /> will be$30,000.00 from the fire fund and the balar�ce will be from donations.Delivery is expected in late <br /> fall. <br /> Our July 4"'pancake breakfast was attended by 1514 people despite an early rain storm that moved <br /> through the area.
