Utilitv Bill Discussion
Deb Marty explained Jeff Traxler has requested to address the Council
regarding a high usage utility bill that he received in December 2017 for
usage from October 24th to November 20". Ms. Marty added that service
orders had been generated twice for Pine River Sanitary District
employees to test the water meter and it was verified the meter was
working properly and there could have been a hose or sink left running, a
leaky toilet, etc. that could have generated the high water usage.
Jeff Traxler, 31394 Pau1 Circle, Pequot Lakes addressed the Council. Mr.
Traxler stated he did not have any leaks that would justify this kind of
usage and does not use much water on a regular basis.
Council Member Swanson suggested that the City remove the meter and
have it tested. Andy Schwartz with Pine River Area Sanitary District
stated that they have yet to have a faulty meter that has been tested
adding that it has always ended up being a hose or sink left running or a
leaky toilet which equates to a lot of water usage.
COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO TAKE A THREE MONTH
AVERAGE OF WATER AND SEWER USAGE AND ISSUE A CHECK
TO MR. TRAXLER FOR THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS AND THE
HIGH USAGE UTILITY BILL HE RECEIVED ALONG WITH THE
REPLACEMENT OF THE WATER METER AT THIS LOCATION.
