LIQUOR LICENSE FOR LATTE DA COFFEE 8� GIFTS AND <br /> TEMPORARY EXPANSION OF PREMISE LICENSE FOR THE <br /> AMERICAN LEGION. <br /> 3.7. PAY EQUITY COMPLIANCE. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 3.1 Citv Council Minutes <br /> Council Member Akerson requested amending the July 9, 2018 Regular <br /> City Council Minutes with the addi#ion noted below. <br /> Mr. Murray indicated the recammended size of bond is $3,500,000 <br /> and suggested utilizing tax aba#ement authority which would pledge <br /> property taxes towards payment of the bond. Mr. Murray stated the <br /> preliminary impact of the bond woufd be approximately a 13% tax <br /> levy increase. Mr. Murrav added that with the maintenance facilitv <br /> and the proposed debt of approximatelv$3,500,000 the Ciiv would <br /> be lookinq at about a 10 point increase to the tax rate which is ric�ht <br /> around 57.5% right now. Upon hearing the timeline for bidding <br /> packages, Mr. Murray suggested the City consider utilizing tum <br /> back funds for the Street and Utility Improvements Project and then <br /> utilize the tax abatement bond to coincide with the Trailside Park <br /> Improvement Project. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE JULY 9, <br /> 2018 REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MINUTES AS AMENDED. MAYOR <br /> ADAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0 <br /> 4. Open Forum <br /> Cathy Malecha addressed the Council. Ms. Malecha gave a background <br /> of her involvement with the improvement of the community of Pequot <br /> Lakes and stated she is upset with what she is hearing in the community <br /> the last few weeks. Ms. Malecha added she was approached by a <br /> customer in her store that was unfamiliar with the Pequot Lakes area and <br /> stated she had asked at another business in town where a good place to <br /> shop was and she was told to go to Nisswa. Ms. Malecha was shocked by <br /> this information and stated there is so much disrespect in this town and it <br /> is having an awful effect on our visitors and residents. Ms. Malecha <br />
