EDC Minutes <br /> May 15,2018 � <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> Malecha with input from Chad Conner of WSN. The committee <br /> was directed to come back with an informational marketing <br /> proposal packet that could be presented to potential businesses <br /> that would be interested in the Pequot Lakes Business Park. <br /> b. Utilities and Roadwav Extensions Studv <br /> Chad Conner with WSN highlighted the Utilities and Roadway <br /> Extensions Study that was approved by the City Council at the May <br /> 1, 2018 Council meeting. Mr. Conner noted the study will assist the <br /> EDC with creating a marketing strategy for the development of the <br /> Business Park. <br /> 5. Fundina 101 Presentation <br /> Chair Jurchen noted a Funding 101 Presentation occurred at the May 1 St <br /> Special City Council meeting by Pat Conroy and Jordan Lee o�Widseth <br /> Smith Nolting and included information on funding sources that are <br /> available to the City. <br /> 6. Workforce Housina � <br /> Nancy Malecha indicated the Planning Commission will be looking at <br /> workforce housing and rehab housing sectors in the future and will include <br /> the HRA and members of the EDC in those discussions to look at a <br /> cohesive housing plan for our community. <br /> 7. Thrivinca Communities Initiative Update <br /> Chair Jurchen stated the Pequot Lakes Thriving Communities Initiative <br /> Steering Committee has dissolved. <br /> Commissioner Lindholm noted that through the Thriving Communities <br /> Initiative process a need for intemships and work experience for students <br /> was noted which created the role of a career advisor at the Pequot Lakes <br /> School District. <br /> 8. School Update <br /> Commissioner Lindholm noted that the Patriot Foundation is raising funds <br /> by selling tickets to ride on the Breezy Bell and hope to raise $7,500 by <br /> the end of June that will be matched by National Joint Powers Alliance <br /> (NJPA). Commissioner Lindholm mentioned there will be solar panels <br /> installed at the school this summer. � <br />
