Communitv SiAn Proposal from Siqn Committee I <br /> Nanc Malecha resented the two si n design proposals from Upland I� <br /> Y P 9 <br /> Advertising 8� Design for a sign to be placed in the City's row irrigation field. � <br /> Ms. Malecha added the sign and the landscaping would be owned and ' <br /> maintained by the City and would be paid for by the City. Ms. Malecha �I <br /> stated there was an increase in cost from the original quote due to the <br /> structure supports and the screening that is needed for the sign. Ms. � <br /> Malecha noted the lighting and landscaping are not included as part of the ' <br /> design quote but the Pequot Lakes Chamber has received $2,000 in '� <br /> donations toward the sign that could be utilized for this cost. <br /> Council discussion included which design would work best and where the <br /> money would come from to pay for the sign. <br /> Ms. Malecha stated the Economic Development Commission had agreed to <br /> give $500 out of their budget toward the sign and the remainder would come <br /> out of the Cit�r's Fund Balance. <br /> Doug Leckband questioned why this would not have been presented to the <br /> Planning Commission before the City Council. Ms. Malecha explained it <br /> does not need to be presented to the Planning Commission as long as it <br /> meets all of the requirements of the ordinance noting it is an over-the- <br /> counter application and permit. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA MOVED TO APPROVE THE V- <br /> STRUCTURE SIGN DESIGN PRESENTED FROM UPLAND <br /> ADVERTISING 8� DESIGN TO BE PLACED IN THE CITY'S ROW <br /> IRRIGATION FIELD WITH A TOTAL COST OF $13,934 TO BE PAID FOR <br /> FROM THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BUDGET($500)WITH THE <br /> REMAINING BALANCE TO BE PAID FROM THE CITY'S FUND <br /> BALANCE.
