Section 4. That Chapter 244 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances be amended by adding thereto a <br /> new Section 244.1845 to read as follows: <br /> 244.1845. Reauirements aaalicable to short term rental dwellin� units. (a) Renta/ dwellinq license <br /> required for non-homestead sratus propertv. No aerson shall allow anv non-homestead status short <br /> term rental dwellin� unit to be occupied, or let or offer to let to another anv non-homestead status <br /> short term rental dwellin� unit for occunancv, or charse, acceat or retain rent for anv non-homestead <br /> status short term rental dwellin�unit unless the owner has a valid rental dwellin� license or provisional <br /> license under the terms of this article. <br /> (b) Short term rental reAistration required for homestead status propertv. No person shall allow anv <br /> homestead status short term rental dwellin� unit to be occupied, or let or offer to let to another anv <br /> homestead status short term rental dwellin�unit for occupancv, or char�e,accept or retain rent for anv <br /> homestead status short term rental dwellin� unit unless the owner has obtained a valid short term ! <br /> rental re�istration under the terms of this article. , <br /> (1) The reauirements of subsection (bl shall applv to anv homestead status short term rental dwellins <br /> unit that is primarilv owner-occupied except for the duration of anv short term rental period. <br /> (21 A short term rental re�istration must include anv information deemed necessarv bv the director and <br /> mav be obtained throush anv readilv available means,written or electronic,as deemed appropriate and <br /> expeditious bv the director.The annual fee for a short term rental re�istration shall be as established in <br /> the license fee schedule. Anv re�istered qropertv shall be subiect to lawful inspection bv the director <br /> and the director's authorized representatives upon a schedule determined bv the director or upon <br /> complaint. <br /> (31 Anv short term rental re�istration mav be denied, canceled or revoked upon notice and the <br /> provision of an opportunitv for hearins for �ood cause, includin� the violation of, or noncompliance <br /> with, anv re�istration reauirement or standard, or anv applicable law, statute or ordinance. Anv such <br /> hearins shall take place pursuant to Chapter 2 of this Code and follow the procedures established in <br /> section 259.255. <br /> (c1 No rental dwellin� classified as Tier 111 bv the director shall be eli�ible for short term rental <br /> re�istration or for use as a short term rental dwellin�. ' <br /> (d) Anv qerson operatin� a short term rental propertv which includes a swimmin� pool that does not <br /> possess a current and valid pool license shall, durins the course of anv such rental period, post a si�n <br /> indicatin�that the qool is not licensed and inspected. <br /> 2 <br />
