City Council Minutes <br />July 6, 2010 <br />Page 6 of 9 <br />-------------------- - - - - -- <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO PURCHASE A FILL STATION AND <br />THREE AIR PACK CYLINDERS AT A TOTAL COST OF $7,585. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 5 -0. <br />8. Police Chief Monthly Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />8.1. Mike Marotta <br />The Clerk noted that Mike Marotta was hired as a part time police <br />officer in January, 2010. She stated that he has not worked since <br />he has been hired and that he does not want to pursue his career <br />at Pequot Lakes as a police officer at this time. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO ACKNOWLEDGE <br />MIKE MAROTTA'S REQUEST TO WITHDRAW HIS <br />EMPLOYMENT WITH THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES AS A <br />PART TIME POLICE OFFICER. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL <br />`-' SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />9. Public Works <br />Report received by Council. <br />9.1. STS Program <br />Mike Loven stated that the Crow Wing County has requested a <br />financial contribution to help keep the Sentence to Serve (STS) <br />Program alive. Mike noted that the City uses the STS program and <br />recommended that the Council make a donation to the program. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO DENY THE REQUEST. <br />MOTION DIED FOR LACK OF A SECOND. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO DONATE $300 TO <br />THE STS PROGRAM. MOTION DIED FOR LACK OF A SECOND. <br />9.2. West Butler Street Improvement <br />Mike Loven noted that TDS has approached the City regarding the <br />`--- paving of a portion of West Butler Street in conjunction with the <br />
