ACTION ITEMS TO SUPPORT POLICIES ABOVE <br /> r Adjust the City's land use regulations to provide for more flexibility for rural property owners <br /> engaging in historic agriculture and related activities. <br /> Y Adjust the City's road standards to provide for low-volume,rustic roads,to be used in the rural areas. <br /> ❑ Extend the Grow Zone approach to the surrounding traditional neighborhoods through <br /> adoption of a form-based code for these places. <br /> 7 Utilize the city's recently adopted street standards which promotes safe pedestrian and biking <br /> travel in addition to compatible automobile travel throughout the entire urban area of the City. <br /> Y Conduct a study to identify specific streets where targeted investments in enhanced <br /> infrastructure(sidewalks,dedicated bike lanes,dedicated trails,neighborhood placemaking,etc.) <br /> can have the greatest impact on improving connectivity. <br /> ❑ Work with the HRA to develop a target list of redevelopment properties,on public infrastructure and <br /> not. <br /> ❑ Perform an assessment of walkability in the Grow Zone and throughout the surrounding <br /> neighborhoods to determine areas of high and low pedestrian mobility and identify priority <br /> corridors for mobility improvements. <br /> ❑ Promote construction of quality,affordable life cycle housing. <br /> ❑ Seek and encourage home based businesses. <br /> ❑ Promote farm to table cooperative. <br /> ❑ Promote a vibrant and complete senior living complex. <br /> ❑ Encourage owner occupied dwellings. <br /> ❑ Engage local contractors and developers to partner with development and redevelopment of our <br /> housing inventory. <br /> a Provide regular and ongoing enforcement of maintenance standards throughout the City. <br /> e Consider adoption of the State Building Code. , <br /> ❑ Develop a Transition Area Plan to fast track private sector investments in the transition area. , <br /> The plan would provide a framework for connecting future development to the existing urban <br /> areas of theCity. i <br /> ❑ Work with the HRA to develop a plan for rehabilitation of existing homes. , <br /> ❑ Create a Park Plan for the Grow Zone and surrounding neighborhoods that leverages park i <br /> investments to promote livability and encourage private-sector investment.
