MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> TUESDAY, MAY 15, 2018 <br /> PEQUOT LAKES CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Chair Jurchen, Commissioners Lubke, Lindholm, and Rieck <br /> Members Absent: Commissioners Clement, Holley and Sjoblad <br /> Others Present: Nancy Malecha, City Administrator; Nancy Adams, Mayor; <br /> Deb Marty, City Clerk/Treasurer; Chris Monroe, Pequot <br /> Lakes Chamber Director; Scott Pederson, Council Member, <br /> Sheila Haverkamp, BLAEDC; Chad Conner, Widseth Smith <br /> Nolting; Bill Brekken and Tom Paulbeck <br /> 1. Call Meetinq to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Jurchen at 8:03 a.m. <br /> 2. Approve EDC Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER LUBKE MOVED TO APPROVE THE APRIL 17, 2018 <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MINUTES. <br /> COMMISSIONER RIECK SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 3. Broadband/Fiber Optic Update <br /> Chair Jurchen suggested the City keep in touch with the utility companies <br /> to be prepared for when the streets are opened up during construction. <br /> 4. 80+ Acres South of Derksen Road <br /> a. Marketina Graahics <br /> Chad Conner of Widseth Smith Nolting (WSN) presented an <br /> overview of the Pequot Lakes Business Park plan. Mr. Conner <br /> presented it as a gateway to the City, highlighted the connectivity to <br /> the Paul Bunyan Trail System, illustrated the concept of a sports <br /> complex and the potential for businesses. Discussion ensued <br /> regarding storm water retention, a variety of lot sizes needed for <br /> different businesses and the concept of a marketing packet. <br /> Chair Jurchen requested a committee be formed to include Chris <br /> Monroe, Sheila Haverkamp, Tom Paulbeck, Bill Brekken and Nancy <br />
