MOTION CARRIED
5 -0.
Comprehensive Plan Update
\.. Dawn Bittner gave an update of the Planning Commission meeting on the economic
development section of the Comprehensive Plan. Dawn explained that the Planning
Commission will revisit the economic development section of the Comp Plan on May
20'x'.
Mark Jurchen stated that he would like to see the comments on the Comp Plan be more
encouraging toward economic development in the City yet be realistic. The Commission
members indicated that it would like to comment on the final draft of the economic
development section of the Comp Plan. The Commission indicated that the next EDC
meeting on May 18'' should be dedicated to review of the Comp Plan.
Discussion was held regarding the industrial park. Following discussion, the EDC made
the following conclusions:
In regard to the existing Business Park, the EDC is aware that the ordinance has been
changed to allow smaller lot sizes in an attempt to subdivide lots and to gain additional
businesses in the park. The Commission felt that although this was accomplished, many
of the business park land owners are unaware of this and therefore, the City may not
accomplish the intended purpose of the ordinance amendment (additional businesses).
The EDC made the following suggestion:
1) Identify the property in the business park
`, 2) Inventory the lots and lot dimensions
