ON Park Commission Minutes April 8, 2010 Page 2 4. Playground Equipment for Trailside Park A. Committee Members: Mayor Adams reported that she contacted MnDOT regarding permission to use MnDOT right -of -way for the playground if necessary. MnDOT suggested that the City contact them when the Park Commission has plans for the playground. It seems MnDOT is willing to work with the City. The Mayor reported that the committee will include Everett Johnson, Pete Clement, Chamber Representative (Lisa Paxton), Mayor Adams, and Kathy Moore who is a representative of the Business Community B. Set Date for Committee Meeting The committee will meet in a couple of weeks. 5. Playground Equipment Plan for Gildner Park The Park Commission made a site visit at Gildner Park. It was decided that the Street Department would measure off areas where playground equipment could be placed. Chair Tweed and Commissioner Malecha stated they would look at playground equipment and make a recommendation to the Park Commission. Commissioner Jurchen requested to be informed by e-mail of the recommendation. 6. Chokecherry Trees Update by Council Member Malecha. Orders are being taken for the trees. 7. Park Brochures Commissioner DenHartog said he would have a draft completed by next week. 8. Other Business Chair Tweed said it was time to make arrangements to plant flowers at Bobber Park. She also noted that the Cole Building needs some type of plants on each side of the entry. Mayor Adams said that we will have to get some dirt for planting at the Cole Memorial Building. Discussion was held regarding a permanent bench at the Cole Building. It was noted that a sign could be placed on the bench regarding the museum. Mike Loven stated that the City could make two benches for the building.
