AGENDA ITEM #5.1 <br /> cZ�y o,� <br /> Pequot <br /> Lakes= - <br /> REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL <br /> Report Prepared by: Nancy Malecha <br /> Date: June 5, 2018 <br /> Subiect: Crow Wing County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan <br /> Report: The Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan (MHMP) is a requirement of the <br /> Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. The development of a local government <br /> plan is required in order to maintain eligibility for certain federal disaster <br /> assistance and hazard mitigation funding programs. In order for communities to be <br /> eligible for future mitigation funds, they must adopt the M�-�VIVIP. <br /> Crow Wing County held two large hazard mitigation planning meetings where <br /> representatives from Crow Wing County, cities, townships, cooperatives, and <br /> businesses were invited to participate. All of the 18 cities participated in the <br /> planning process and completed a Local Mitigation Capability Assessment <br /> (LMCA). The Plan went out for public feedback and has been reviewed by FEMA <br /> and approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Division of ', <br /> Homeland Security & Emergency Management. <br /> The final step in the development of a local government plan is to have all of the <br /> cities adopt the Crow Wing County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Plan is a 434 <br /> page document that can be found online at: <br /> https://drive.�oogle.com/file/d/1 w80A7Jb2VvBKgYDBCzViv 12LxifqLbNS/view. <br /> Attached is a resolution adopting the All-Hazard Mitigation Plan for Council <br /> consideration. The Crow Wing County Board approved the Plan on April 10�'. <br /> John Bowen, Crow Wing County Emergency Management Director, will be <br /> present at the Council meeting to address any inquiries the Council may have. <br /> Council Action Requested: Council motion approving the resolution adopting <br /> the Crow Wing County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan. <br />
