AGENDA ITEM #5.1 cZ�y o,� Pequot Lakes= - REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL Report Prepared by: Nancy Malecha Date: June 5, 2018 Subiect: Crow Wing County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan Report: The Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan (MHMP) is a requirement of the Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. The development of a local government plan is required in order to maintain eligibility for certain federal disaster assistance and hazard mitigation funding programs. In order for communities to be eligible for future mitigation funds, they must adopt the M�-�VIVIP. Crow Wing County held two large hazard mitigation planning meetings where representatives from Crow Wing County, cities, townships, cooperatives, and businesses were invited to participate. All of the 18 cities participated in the planning process and completed a Local Mitigation Capability Assessment (LMCA). The Plan went out for public feedback and has been reviewed by FEMA and approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Division of ', Homeland Security & Emergency Management. The final step in the development of a local government plan is to have all of the cities adopt the Crow Wing County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan. Attached is a resolution adopting the All-Hazard Mitigation Plan for Council consideration. The Crow Wing County Board approved the Plan on April 10�'. John Bowen, Crow Wing County Emergency Management Director, will be present at the Council meeting to address any inquiries the Council may have. Council Action Requested: Council motion approving the resolution adopting the Crow Wing County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan.
