City of <br />�- <br />Pequott <br />Lakes— <br />M <br />AGENDA ITEM #9.1. <br />REPORT TO <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />Date: May 4, 2010 <br />Subject: Summer Water Usage Policy <br />Report: Jack Schmidt has requested to speak to the <br />Council about the Council decision on October 13, 2009, to <br />eliminate the Summer Water Usage Policy effective <br />January 1, 2010. <br />The Council first adopted this policy in 2006 and it became <br />effective in 2007. This policy did not allow customers with <br />irrigation systems that were used to water their lawns to <br />participate in the policy. These customers had the option of <br />installing a dual meter for the irrigation system. If a dual <br />meter was installed, the customer would not be charged a <br />sewer fee for the water that went through the dual meter. <br />The Council revised the Summer Water Usage policy on <br />April 1, 2008. The main change in the policy was that <br />customers with irrigation systems would be allowed to have <br />their water averaged and participate in the policy. It also <br />
