ABSENT: Brian Wallin,Vice-Chair and Mark Mortenson. <br /> CITY PLANNER: Justin Burslie, NJPA � <br /> ZONING SPECIALIST: Dawn Bittner ; <br /> COUNCIL LIAISON: Nancy Adams �� <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Hallan at 6:0o PM. <br /> � <br /> COMPREHENSIVE PI.AN UPDATE � <br /> Integrated Growth Plan— Continuation I <br /> Mr. Burslie explained the Integrated Growth Plan pertains to the long-range use and <br /> how to develop in the future. The Planning Commission evaluated the interchange last I'I <br /> year. The EDC comments suggest removing the Agriculture classifications. Staff should � <br /> visit the AG areas and see if a Fbrest Preservation classification is better suited. There � <br /> are large rural areas that need to have a classification. <br /> Mark Jurchen, Chair of the EDC stated they did not intend to remove Agriculture as a <br /> classification, only agriculture is not an economy. The Agriculture classification could <br /> remain. <br /> Curt Johnson,resident of Ideal Township with business interests in Pequot Lakes, <br /> stated if the Future Land Use Map is going to change,the property owners must be <br /> notified. Chair Hallan stated this is not a Zoning Map;this is the Future Land Use Map. <br /> Mr. Burslie stated a Zoning Map is the letter of the law.The Future Land Use Map <br /> (FLU)is a planning map that is reviewed for a rezone request; it is a tool used by Staff. <br /> Mr. Burslie explained the changes made last year regarding the area surrounding the <br /> interchange. <br /> Planning Commission Member Leckband inquired about the parcels south on Patriot <br /> Avenue that have businesses facing Patriot Avenue but they are shown as Rural <br /> MINUTES 1 <br /> Pequot Lakes Planning Commission <br /> April i9; 2oi8 <br />
