6.3.A John Derksen Public Nuisance Abatement <br /> Dawn Bittner stated she and Council Member Akerson visited the John <br /> Derksen property in September and all code violations had been removed <br /> except the snowmobiles. Ms. Bittner added that Staff is recommending to <br /> amend the definitions of recreational equipment and recreational vehicles as <br /> well as amending the exterior storage section to be more specific and <br /> requested Council direction. <br /> Council discussion ensued and the consensus was to direct the Planning <br /> Commission to look into it further and bring a recommendation back to the <br /> Council. <br /> 6.3.B Robert Swenson Public Nuisance Abatement <br /> Dawn Bittner stated the property at 31051 Pine Street was declared a public <br /> nuisance in 2017 and although the existing buildings are not hazardous, <br /> they are poorly maintained and are a blight to the community. Ms. Bittner <br /> added the City Attomey and Staff are recommending to amend the City <br /> Code to include an exterior maintenance ordinance. <br /> Council discussion ensued and consensus was to have the Planning <br /> Commission look into this matter further and bring a recommendation back <br /> to the Council. <br /> 6.4. Tax ForFeit Parcel <br /> Dawn Bittner explained Crow Wing County is proposing to reclassify Parcel <br /> #291000010150009 and offer it for sale and the Planning Commission is <br /> unanimously recommending the subject property not be reclassified "Non- <br /> Conservation° until the adjacent parcel to the north, Parcel <br /> #291000010140009, becomes tax forFeited next year so they can be offered <br /> together for sale. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LAKOUTA MOVED TO NOT ALLOW PARCEL <br /> #29100001015009 BE RECLASSIFIED "NON-CONSERVATION" UNTIL <br /> THE ADJACENT PARCEL#291000010140009 BECOMES TAX <br /> FORFEITED AND BOTH PARCELS CAN BE OFFERED TOGETHER FOR <br /> SALE. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Mayor Adams requested the property be monitored so it does not become a <br /> detriment to the neighborhood. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 6.5 Sians <br /> April i9, 2oi8 Staff Report Page 2 <br />
