Chris Monroe, Pequot Lakes Chamber, stated business is down significantly. They <br /> aren't loolang for a dozen billboards up and down Highway 37i. The business <br /> community is open to an information system. What is her next step? <br /> Mark Jurchen stated the Chamber is being an advocate for the businesses. The biggest <br /> concern for the TCI is that businesses elsewhere can advertise on our billboards. <br /> Chris Monroe stated the business community is motivated to promote themselves. <br /> Chair Hallan requested this be moved to Old Business next month. He would like to <br /> hear from the school regarding their involvement with an information system. <br /> Vice-Chair Wallin stated cell phones receive sales information when you enter a store. <br /> There may be a way to send information to cell phones as people drive by. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> a. Commercial Use, Other— Discussion <br /> Mr. Burslie elcplained the Staff Report. <br /> The two solar collector systems need to be defined. Planning Commission Member <br /> Birch stated the solar systems should be a Conditional Use Permit and discussed on a <br /> case by case basis.' <br /> Planning Commission Member Leckband requested Brewery be removed from the list. <br /> There are many distinctions and all of them would need to be addressed. Mr. Burslie <br /> stated Brewery should remain as they are more defined in the liquor ordinance. <br /> Mr. Burslie inquired if Distillery should be added. It was the consensus of the <br /> Commission that it should be added. <br /> It was the consensus of the Planning Commission that Solar Collector Systems, <br /> personal, no permit needed. Change"personal"to"onsite". Roof mounted onsite be an <br /> allowed use. Staff was directed to remove the commercial Solar Collector System. <br /> Florist Shop can be removed as it is a retail use. Group Hotel and Motel. <br /> Chair Hallan stated,based on the discussion, Staff is directed to revise the list,include it <br /> in the packet and hold the Public Hearing next month. <br /> b. Future Sale of Tax Forfeited Land <br /> Mr. Burslie explained the Staff Report.
